Melrose purchase in trouble?
A rumor circulating claims that the Melrose purchase is in jeopardy based on the recent economic downturn. Does anyone have any additional information to add? Is this an unfounded rumor or is there any truth to it?

Per discussions with folks in the know, the same guy who attempted the Bay Point Development sits in a van counting passengers to/from the County ferry and is pursuing Melrose. Vendors on DFI aren't being told anything except are told they will be receiving lease agreements. The original potential buyer of Melrose has pulled out, so the talk goes.
Since 2016, developers have attempted to build a luxury resort on Bay Point Island, a biologically rich barrier island at the mouth of Port Royal Sound. The plan includes 50 villas, shops, restaurants, bars, spas and fitness centers, along with 10 septic systems.
