Response from the Board of Directors, Sept 16th sent to all members. If you would like to review Title 33-16-1 of the SC law governing access to full association records you may do so here. https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t33c016.php Dear Member It may have come to your attention that a small group of members have delivered a formal request for certain financial information to the Board and its management team. We thought a short notice to the membership was warranted in order to set the record straight. The Board and management have not refused to answer any of the information or questions they have posed, excluding confidential payroll information. Many of the items have been responded too at open sessions, CFO roundtable and other meetings. Follow up meetings have been offered by several members of our senior management team, without acceptance to date. Information regarding membership directory lists and committee minutes are available on our website. The Association has not had annual cash deficits. While our net income including non- cash charges such as depreciation is negative as planned, net cash provided by Operating Activities as can be seen in the Cash Flow Statement in our audited financial statements for the past three years are all positive, as they were for the first half of 2022. The $5 million of depreciated physical assets, as described on numerous occasions to the entire membership, was the removal of $5 million of old, fully depreciated assets and improvements dating back to the initiation of the club more than 40 years ago. These write-off adjustments were made by Jeff and his team, as recommended by, and in alignment with our external auditors. These items should have been removed when they were replaced, refurbished or taken out of service when deteriorated to the extent they no longer had any fiscal/accounting value. For instance, approximately $3.5 million of this amount relates to our buildings, golf course, roads and ferries all of which are still physically here and are definitely not missing. The balance, representing equipment, furniture and fixtures have similar reasons for being removed. We will be meeting with representatives of this group before the end of the month to address their questions and false statements. Jeff also plans to continue with his periodic CFO round table sessions, open to all interested members, as the feedback received from the participants has been overwhelmingly positive to date. Thanks for your patience, The Haig Point Board of Directors and management
