Board Issued Possible Illegal Ballots. Recast Votes Now.
Admin note: although Tom attempts to paint this as an action by a single member, this is not true. The board actually received a large number of emails from members, one of which is an attorney. Please check your inboxes for the new ballots and vote NO on the 5 assessments representing $21m+ of additional member payments.
Please read Tom's letter below.
Dear Member
Within the last week, HPCCA received emails from a Property Owner and Haig Point Club Member who is also an attorney, claiming that the Proxy Appointments sent with the Notice of Special Meetings on January 19, 2023 were not in correct form to achieve a valid result. We addressed these concerns to our outside South Carolina attorneys who had previously reviewed all materials related to the Notice of Special Meetings. After this additional consultation, the Board decided to revise the Proxy Appointments in the forms to be included in a Revised Notice of Special Meetings, to avoid any future issue or dispute. This revision only pertains to the Proxy Appointments.
The Revised Notice of Special Meetings will be sent to you today in a separate email communication directly from DocuSign. Unfortunately, this Revised Notice will void all ballots that were previously issued, including those that have already been cast. Therefore, those members who have already voted will need to access the new Ballot Package and again cast their vote.
We apologize for any confusion this may cause. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to any members of the Board or to senior management.
Tom Donohoe, HPCCA Board President

You know Matt, i can assure you that nobody who is voting no is commenting with “glee”, we r commenting with sadness and anger. For you to presume that is part of the problem that is driving this situation.
