HP Boat Club raises prices by 60% for Members
As most members know the "boat club" has struggled in 2022 due to mismanagement by Tim Richards, and many members have complained about the declining quality of the services offered to members. Unfortunately, Doug Egly has decided to raise the cost of the service to members by 60%.
This move follows a concerning pattern of declining services coupled with increasing costs to the membership.

Dear Haig Point Boaters,
We hope this email finds you well. Congratulations on a successful year of the boat club. Your love for the waterways and boating have made this past year one of our best, yet. We are grateful to each and every one of you for your contributions.
The boat club was started to provide an organized and user-friendly amenity with better boat storage and water access for our members. In the past two years, the boat club, which started as a small amenity, has grown and continues to grow. In 2023 we will be adding an addition staff person to assist captain AJ and improve service. This additional staff in necessary to ensure quality storage, launch and dock service.
To offset these additional costs the annual fee for the boat club service will be increased from $1200 to $2000. Pay as you go fees will also be increased. The annual fee is still by far the best deal in almost every situation since storage, docking fees etc. add up quickly and are geared toward one-time or seldom users.
This increase was reviewed during the budgeting process. Although, the increase by percentage is 60%, two significant factors impact the need for increase. The first item relates to the planning and inception of the Boat Club. When the Boat Club was being formed there was a significant change that needed to take place. The Community dock was used by just a few individuals who paid for a private spot. This did not easily allow for a wider group of boaters to have access to the dock. To get the boat club up and running, make the paradigm shift, and prove the viability of the club, the plan was to initially have lower fees, while still offsetting most of the expense. Secondly, the additional funds are now needed to continue to grow and have the Boat Club thrive as a quality amenity with proper staffing. And, still the goal is to offset the expense. We hope that you will continue to be a part of our community. If you have any questions or concerns about the increase or other items, please don't hesitate to reach out to me (Captain AJ) or Tim Richards. Your member accounts will be charged the annual fee on January 15th and be reflected on your January statement. Thank you again for your support and commitment to the boat club. We look forward to another great year together. Sincerely,
A.j Brannan Land Transportation Supervisor (425)309-4061 abrannan@haigpoint.com
