Nominating Committee attempts to rig election (again)
This email was sent on behalf of the nominating committee. There are 30 days to submit write in votes.
Side note: the nominating committee is not an elected committee. It is appointed by the board and positions itself as the sole arbiter of new board candidates. In essence, the board appoints the nominating committee and the nominating committee, in turn, selects the board members. Worse yet, former board members sit on the nominating committee and use the apparatus to maintain a chokehold on financial decision making.
Candidates are not required to be vetted by the committee. If you are concerned about about the future of the club from either a financial or services point of view, please consider running for the board as a write-in candidate..

Fellow Members:
The Nominating Committee works year-round in our effort to identify talent and solicit qualified Members that can add value as a Board Director. We work with committee chairs to identify active committee members that have demonstrated solid performance and who may have an interest in leadership. In addition, we solicit Member recommendations searching for Members with the skills that will enhance the composition of the Board. To the extent possible within these parameters, we focus on achieving a representative cross section of Members on the Board.
We go through an extensive process of evaluating and interviewing the candidates so that Members, near and far, aren't tasked with doing so. Our process allows us to offer the Membership fully vetted nominees to fill the open positions with candidates that possess the experience and expertise needed at this time, as well as enable a thoughtful leadership succession plan.
It is important to note that the Nominating Committee functions independently from the Board; our final selection of candidates is not subject to the Board's approval. The diversity on the Nominating Committee, as well as its autonomy, helps ensure that candidate selections best represent the broader interest of the Membership.
Over the past three months, the Nominating Committee has communicated with more than 15 potential candidates. Through that process we have identified the three Members we feel are the most qualified and best suited given the current needs of HPCCA, listed in alphabetical order:
· Mark Hinderks (link to letter and application)
· Brad Pierce (link to letter and application)
· Ty Wooldridge (link to letter and application)
These candidates have all served effectively on various Haig Point committees; they all have strong financial backgrounds; they all have solid management skills; they all have served on other boards; and they all have demonstrated successful leadership in their business careers.
We hope that you will support this slate of nominees. Property owners may run as a write-in by following the guidelines set forth in the HPCCA bylaws, Article IV Section 4(c) within 30 days of this posting. Write-in candidates may or may not have gone through the extensive vetting process and are not endorsed by the Nominating Committee.
"Meet the Candidates" will be held on Thursday, December 1st at 4pm at the Clubhouse, giving you an opportunity to learn more about the recommended slate of candidates.
The members of your Nominating Committee are your neighbors and friends. If you have questions about our process, please contact any member of the committee for clarification.
As always, we thank you for your continued support,
Vail Shipley, Chair Todd Putz
Tim Engram Bill Tait
Amy Evans Carl Walter
