Who Hired A Salaried Pickle Ball Director without Committee Member Approval??
The optics of Management's hiring a pickle ball director without going thru either the tennis or finance committee goes against Gary's repeated claim that no decisions are made without official Member and Committee input. One more example of poor communications. True, Pickle ball is the fastest growing sport, and there has been some talk about expanding the program in the future, BUT, technically Members have not yet voted on its priority nor officially approved its expansion. Furthermore, this is a rude affront to our Professional and loyal Ron Gwyn, who has created pickle ball instruction and events, even a tournament while also handling tennis and the entire fitness facility and program very well all by himself. He has needed some unskilled help in all the physical work he does, but to suddenly add another salaried position when the Club is struggling to prioritize its financial resources in this manner is not showing good Management Judgement. and certainly not showing good communications with dues paying Members. So, WHO authorized this hire?? The Court Oriented Membership and many others are quite upset the way this came down.

I’d like to know the same. Tonight, they announced through email that a new Director of Recreation and Wellness Initiatives has been hired. How that new position can be justified in light of the poor performance on budget and the recent hire of the Director of Racquet Sports is beyond me. Another example of poor decisions by management who seem completely out of touch with the financial realities and true needs of the club.
