Bomb threat delays B.C. ferry departures Tsaww***en, B.C.–BC Ferries shut down all vessels departing from the busy Tsaww***en terminal yesterday afternoon after receiving a bomb threat.
Thousands of p***engers were stranded for five hours as Delta police searched the terminal building.
"No one was saying anything except we had to leave the terminal, so I started bawling," said an exhausted Katie Kelly, an Australian tourist who arrived at the ferry dock following a 20-hour flight from Sydney. "It's an amazing country from what I've seen but I never expected this in my first hour in Canada."
All ferries sailing out of the terminal were delayed.
BC Ferries has offered a $50,000 reward for information. A spokesperson said the threat was phoned in around 3:30 p.m.
The terminal was shut down to incoming p***engers by 5 p.m.
P***engers arriving at the terminal were allowed to disembark, but those departing from the Vancouver-area port were kept in line as police searched cars and the area. |
