BC Ferries to do a second investigation into fatal ferry incident BC Ferries has confirmed it is re-opening its investigation into the sinking of the Queen of the North. It released a report into the incident in March of this year, but said the bridge crew members involved did not co-operate with the investigation. Those three workers have since been fired.
BC Ferries says new information has been obtained after the company received electronic data recovered from the sunken vessel by the Transportation Safety Board for its own probe. The company's divisional inquiry originally blamed human error for the deadly sinking. BC Ferries said the new information has to do with the fourth officer on the ship and about his version of the events that happened that night.
