Exclamation Ferry boat trailer fire put out

Kent firefighters have tackled a fire on board one of the car decks of a p***enger ferry at the port of Dover.

They were called to the Eastern Docks just after 0930 BST after a fire broke out in a boat trailer on board the Maersk Dunkerque ferry.

P***engers on board the cross-Channel ferry were evacuated as a precaution, and there were no injuries.

The fire was successfully extinguished within an hour, and ferry services have been unaffected.
