HD Ferries announces NEW route between Jersey - Alderney - Cherbourg D Ferries, the Channel Islands low cost ferry operator, announces a new p***enger, car and freight service from Jersey to Alderney and Cherbourg via Guernsey, starting on 30th July 2007. Tickets are now on sale with prices starting from £19.00 (Foot p***enger one way ticket).
HD Ferries, the Channel Islands low cost ferry operator, announces the start of a new ferry service connecting Jersey with Alderney and Cherbourg. This new route will operate twice a week, commencing on 30th July 2007.
HD Ferries will use their high speed catamaran HD1, (400 p***engers - 100 cars or a mixture of 70 cars and 10 freight units) between Jersey, Alderney and Cherbourg. The fastest crossing between Jersey and Alderney will take 2 hour 45 minutes, and between Jersey and Cherbourg 3 hours.
HD Ferries will be the first ferry operator to convey cars and freight to the La Manche region from the Channel Islands.
HD Ferries will operate between Alderney and Cherbourg twice a week until the end of October (Mondays and Fridays). Reducing to one crossing per week in low season. Convenient timetables will allow Channel Islands residents to discover La Manche region and bring a new French market to the Channel Islands. The connection to Cherbourg also offers an alternative route to the UK and Ireland.
HD Ferries will provide Channel Island freight customers the opportunity to develop their business with the La Manche region thanks to the new connections. This will make improvements in the logistics chain and transit times, and provide connections for existing freight traffic coming from the UK and Ireland to Cherbourg.
Celtic Link Ferries has been appointed port agent at Cherbourg for HD Ferries.

For their first season between St Malo and the Channel Islands, hdferries.com, the cheapest ferry operator in the market place, carried between March and June 2007, 60,000 p***engers and 15,000 cars. These fast growing numbers are the result of their low cost fares, which are highly appreciated by their customers.
A Jersey-Cherbourg single ticket for car + two occupants will cost an average of £99 (£29 per person for a foot p***enger). Bicycles will be free. The one way prices for Jersey-Alderney will be an average £149 for a car + two occupants (£29 per person for a foot p***enger)
